Many Canadians will face dangerous heat on Tuesday as Environment Canada issues extreme heat warnings across parts of Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories.
The hottest conditions are expected in Ontario, where temperatures could reach 30 to 37 C, with humidex values making it feel like 38 to 40. Environment Canada says Tuesday will be the peak of the heat wave.
Parts of Quebec could see temperatures near 30 C, while northern Manitoba may reach 29 C. Heat warnings remain in effect as hot days and warm nights increase the risk of heat-related illness.
Environment Canada urges people to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including headache, dizziness, nausea, thirst and extreme fatigue.
