Trump Signs Iran Peace Agreement

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 14-point agreement with Iran, calling it a major victory for the United States. The deal aims to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route, and prevent further economic problems around the world.

As part of the agreement, the U.S. would ease restrictions on Iran by allowing oil exports, unfreezing some Iranian assets, and discussing the removal of sanctions. In return, Iran agreed not to develop nuclear weapons and to reduce tensions in the region.

The deal also includes a 60-day ceasefire and measures to limit conflict involving Iran-backed groups such as Hezbollah. However, some U.S. Republicans and Israeli leaders are expected to oppose the agreement because it gives Iran several concessions.

Trump defended the deal, saying it helps avoid a larger conflict and protects the global economy. Critics argue that Iran is receiving major benefits before making significant long-term commitments.
