Heavy rain is expected across parts of Ontario over the long weekend, including the Greater Toronto Area and Cottage Country.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto and nearby areas, warning that some places could receive more than 50 mm of rain from showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest rain is expected from overnight Saturday into Sunday evening, which could cause water to collect on roads and reduce visibility.
In the Bracebridge–Gravenhurst area, 50 to 80 mm of rain is possible Saturday afternoon and evening, with more rain expected on Sunday. Residents are encouraged to check with their local conservation authority or the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources for flood updates.
