Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crewmates are set to splash down following a historic journey around the moon.

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his three American crewmates are nearing the end of their historic Artemis II mission to the moon.

NASA says the crew will splash down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego while travelling about 38,000 kilometres per hour. Earlier this week, they flew around the moon, going farther into space than any humans before.

The 10-day mission is the first time people have seen the moon up close since the Apollo missions decades ago. NASA says Artemis aims to return astronauts to the moon by 2028. After landing, the crew will be checked on a U.S. Navy ship before heading to Houston.
