Cookie Recalled in Ontario Following Reported Adverse Reaction

A cookie product has been recalled in Ontario after a consumer reported having a reaction.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall notice on Wednesday. The product affected is Iron Kettle brand ginger molasses cookie dough.

The cookie dough comes in a 1-kilogram package and does not have a UPC code. It was sold in Ontario.

According to the CFIA, the product is being recalled because it contains egg, which is not listed on the label. Any packages that do not list egg as an ingredient are part of the recall.

The CFIA said the recall was started after a consumer complaint. One reaction has been reported so far.

The Iron Kettle Commissary is the company recalling the product.

The CFIA said it is continuing a food safety investigation and that other products could also be recalled.

The agency is also checking to make sure the recalled product is being removed from store shelves.

Consumers are being asked to check if they have the affected cookie dough at home.

People with an egg allergy or sensitivity are warned not to eat the product, as it could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

The CFIA says consumers should not serve, sell, or give away the recalled product. It should be thrown out or returned to the store where it was purchased.
