Actress Daveigh Chase, best known as the voice of Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and for playing Samara Morgan in The Ring, has died at age 35.
Her manager, John Ryan Jr., said Chase died from sepsis after battling meningitis in a Los Angeles hospital. She had also been treated for malnutrition before her death.
Chase rose to fame in 2001 with her role in Donnie Darko. In 2002, she starred as the frightening Samara in The Ring, earning an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. That same year, she voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and later won an Annie Award for her voice acting.
