Nvidia unveils new AI chip designed for personal computers.

Nvidia has announced a new AI chip for personal computers as it expands into consumer devices powered by artificial intelligence.

At the Computex technology show in Computex in Taipei, CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the RTX Spark chip. He said the change is as big as the shift from phones to smartphones.

The RTX Spark is designed for “personal AI agents,” which can act more like helpers than simple tools. It will be used in new Windows PCs made by Lenovo, HP, Dell, Microsoft Surface, Asus, and MSI. More models from Acer and Gigabyte will follow.

The move puts Nvidia in stronger competition with Apple and Intel, while analysts say it could also challenge AMD and Qualcomm.

At the same time, the U.S. government tightened rules on exporting advanced AI chips, including Nvidia’s, to China through updated guidance from the US Department of Commerce and its Bureau of Industry and Security.

Analysts say Nvidia’s move marks a shift from making chips to shaping full AI computer systems, as demand for AI hardware continues to grow.
