Major Cleaning Company Issues Recall in Canada After 161 Injuries Reported

Attachments for some steam cleaners have been recalled after 160 injuries were reported in the United States and one in Canada.

In a notice released Thursday, Health Canada said the attachments can suddenly come off and spray hot water or steam, which could burn users.

The recall affects certain Bissell Steam Shot Omni and Steam Shot OmniReach models.

As of March 19, there has been one reported burn injury in Canada. In the U.S., there have been 205 reports of the issue, including 160 burn injuries.

About 95,000 units were sold in Canada between October 2024 and March 2026, and over 1.2 million in the U.S.

Consumers are being told to stop using the products right away and contact Bissell to get free replacement attachments.
