Alberta says it will soon release air quality data from a landfill fire that has been burning in south Calgary for more than a week.
The fire at the ECCO Recycling landfill continues to smoulder, sending smoke into nearby communities. Calgary’s mayor and a city councillor had asked the province to make the air quality results public.
Fire crews are using dirt and water to put out the blaze, but say landfill fires can take a long time to extinguish.
