Popular spreads recalled across Canada over possible glass contamination

Two Allo Simonne flavoured spreads are being recalled in parts of Canada because they may contain pieces of glass.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says the affected 220-gram products are:

  • Pistachio Matcha Spread — UPC: 628437310561, Best Before: 10/27

  • Almond Cardamom Spread — UPC: 628437310073, Best Before: 10/27

The spreads were sold online and in British Columbia and Quebec.

The CFIA is urging consumers not to eat, sell or serve the recalled products. The recall is classified as Class 2, meaning the product could pose a health risk.

This is the second Allo Simonne recall linked to possible glass contamination this year, after its Milk Chocolate Spread was recalled in June.
