Transport Canada recalls select 2016-2025 Honda and Acura vehicles over airbag sensor issue

Transport Canada has issued a recall for certain 2016 to 2025 Honda and Acura vehicles due to a potential problem with the front passenger seat weight sensor.

The agency says the sensor may have been improperly manufactured, which could cause the front passenger airbag and knee airbag to deploy in a crash when they are not needed. This could increase the risk of injury.

The recall affects the following vehicles:

  • 2016 to 2022 Honda Civic
  • 2017 to 2022 Honda CR-V
  • 2018 to 2022 Honda Accord
  • 2018 to 2025 Honda Odyssey
  • 2019 to 2021 Honda HR-V
  • 2019 to 2021 Honda Insight
  • 2019 to 2021 Honda Passport
  • 2019 to 2021 Honda Ridgeline
  • 2017 to 2024 Acura MDX
  • 2018 to 2021 Acura TLX
  • 2018 to 2021 Honda Pilot
  • 2021 Acura RDX
