Trump says U.S. could wrap up Iran operation within weeks, aiming to “finish the job”

Donald Trump said U.S. military action in Iran could end within “two or three weeks,” with or without a deal between the two sides.

Trump said the U.S. has already met its main goal of weakening Iran’s ability to build a nuclear weapon and is now “finishing the job.” He added that the U.S. would leave once it is sure Iran can no longer develop one.

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said his country is willing to end the war if certain conditions are met.

The conflict began on Feb. 28 when the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran. Fighting has continued across the region, including airstrikes, missile attacks, and drone strikes affecting nearby countries.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said talks are ongoing and a possible meeting could happen, but warned that the U.S. will not allow delays through “fake negotiations.”

Meanwhile, strikes continued overnight, with both sides targeting military sites, and new missiles fired toward Israel.
