Rex Heuermann has admitted responsibility for the murder of eight women in New York.

A Manhattan architect, Rex Heuermann, has pleaded guilty to murdering seven women and admitted to killing an eighth in the long-unsolved Gilgo Beach killings.

Heuermann, 62, calmly described his crimes in court, saying he strangled all eight victims and used burner phones to contact them. He also admitted to disposing of their bodies along a remote stretch of beach on Long Island.

He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of murder, bringing a major case to a close after years of investigation. He is expected to be sentenced in June and faces life in prison.

The case began in 2010 when human remains were found near Gilgo Beach. Investigators later used DNA evidence, phone records and surveillance to link Heuermann to the crimes. He was arrested in 2023 after police matched his DNA to evidence collected at the scene.
