Cracker Barrel Brings Back Vintage Logo After Rebrand Backlash

Cracker Barrel Brings Back Old Logo After Backlash and Trump Criticism

Cracker Barrel, a popular U.S. restaurant chain, said Tuesday it will return to its old logo after a new design sparked major backlash — even drawing criticism from former President Donald Trump.

The chain’s stock lost tens of millions of dollars in value after it revealed a new logo last week. Many right-wing critics called the redesign “woke.”

Trump joined the controversy on Truth Social, writing: “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate poll), and manage the company better than ever before.”

The scrapped logo featured only the brand name inside a yellow hexagon. The company said in a statement on X that it listened to its customers and would keep its longtime image of an old man sitting on a chair next to a barrel.

“We said we would listen, and we have,” the company wrote. “Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain.”

Cracker Barrel added that its 70,000 employees “look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.”

The logo fight comes as Trump and his allies continue a broader push against what they call “woke” culture in government and business. Cracker Barrel operates about 660 restaurants across the U.S. In the 2024 election, Trump won 74 percent of counties that have a Cracker Barrel, according to analyst Dave Wasserman.
