LCBO Extends Store Hours Ahead of Potential Strike

The LCBO announced it will extend store hours starting this week in anticipation of a potential strike by employees.

With collective bargaining underway between the LCBO and OPSEU, the union will be in a legal strike position as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 5, the LCBO stated in a release.

The extended hours will apply to all stores across the province from Thursday, June 27, through Thursday, July 4. All stores will open early at 9:30 a.m., and many will remain open until 10 p.m., though closing times will vary by location.

“We encourage customers to shop early and stock up on preferred products,” the LCBO advised. “Our shelves are well-stocked, and we are doing everything we can to maintain inventory levels.”

Customers are urged to check local store schedules for updates on extended hours, the LCBO added.

Additionally, all LCBO retail locations will be closed on Monday, July 1, for Canada Day.
