On the final day of 2023, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reported that over 354,000 individuals were granted Canadian citizenship. Throughout the year, Canada held over 3,000 citizenship ceremonies, as per the organization’s announcement.

Marc Miller, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, declared the opening of the International Experience Canada Program in anticipation of the upcoming year. This initiative enables approximately 90,000 individuals aged 18 to 35 (or 30 for certain countries) from partner nations and territories to visit Canada. Moreover, the program facilitates Canadian citizens in the same age bracket to engage in work and travel abroad, offering avenues for obtaining work permits or visas in more than 35 countries globally.
