New food recalls affect products sold at major Canadian retailers: What Ontario shoppers need to know

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued food recall warnings for shrimp and frozen dessert products sold in Canada.

Certain President’s Choice and SeaQuest shrimp products sold at Loblaw banner stores and through Amazon have been recalled because they may contain undeclared mustard.

Affected shrimp products:

  • President’s Choice Black Tiger Shrimp with Mild Cocktail Sauce: 568 g, UPC 0 60383 18048 5. Best-before dates: Oct. 6 and 7, 2026.
  • SeaQuest Shrimp Ring with Mild Cocktail Sauce: 454 g, UPC 0 60383 18047 8. Multiple best-before dates are affected, ranging from November 2026 to July 2027.

Consumers should not use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled products.

A separate recall affects Nora’s Mint Chip Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert because it may contain undeclared peanuts.

The 500 mL product, UPC 6 27843 81424 5, has code TG-BF093T and a best-before date of April 3, 2028. It was sold in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, including through Amazon.

People with peanut allergies should not eat the recalled dessert.

Other recent food safety alerts include frozen raspberries sold at Summerhill Market stores in Ontario and vegan protein puff snacks sold through Amazon.
