Premier Doug Ford Urges Universities to Remove Pro-Palestinian Encampments, Citing Safety Concerns and Public Frustration

The Ontario government has bought a used private jet for $28.9 million for Premier Doug Ford to use for travel.

The premier’s office says the plane will make it easier and more secure to travel across Ontario, Canada, and to the United States for meetings. The aircraft is a Bombardier Challenger 650 built in 2016.

Opposition leaders, including NDP Leader Marit Stiles and interim Liberal Leader John Fraser, criticized the purchase. They argued the money could be better spent, especially as many people struggle with rising costs like food and gas.

The government says the jet is a reasonable expense compared to other planes bought by Quebec and the federal government.
