The family of a flight attendant badly hurt in an Air Canada crash at LaGuardia Airport has launched an online fundraiser to support her recovery.
Sarah Lepine says her mother, Solange Tremblay, was on a flight from Montreal to New York City when the plane crashed into a fire truck while landing on March 22. Two pilots were killed in the crash.
Lepine says her mother suffered serious injuries, including broken legs, a spinal fracture, and burns. She has already had several surgeries and will need more treatment and rehabilitation.
The family says she will stay in New York for recovery and may not be able to work for some time. They started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover costs, which has already raised more than $86,000 toward its $90,000 goal.
