Ottawa Braces for Season’s Biggest Snowfall Ahead of Family Day Weekend
Ottawa is set to experience its heaviest snowfall of the season this week, with forecasts predicting between 20 and 40 centimetres of snow leading into the Family Day long weekend.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement, warning of a “highly impactful winter storm” expected to arrive Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday.
“Significant amounts of snow are possible late Wednesday into Thursday across a large portion of southern Ontario due to a strong low-pressure system,” the agency stated. However, the exact snowfall amounts remain uncertain, as the storm’s path is still developing.
The winter storm is expected to impact much of southern Ontario, with snowfall totals ranging from 10 to 40 cm across the region.
