Snow Squall Warnings Lifted for Southern Ontario, Says Environment Canada
Southern Ontario experienced an additional 5 to 15 centimetres of snow before Environment Canada lifted the snow squall warnings on Sunday.
The federal weather agency had earlier warned of “poor visibility in bursts of heavy snow” in areas near Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, with the warnings ending by noon.
On social media, the Ontario Provincial Police reported multiple collisions on Saturday as up to 40 centimetres of snow covered parts of the region. They urged drivers to avoid travel, though no serious injuries were reported.
In Toronto, Environment Canada predicted wind chills of -13°C, with westerly winds gusting up to 50 km/h throughout Sunday morning and afternoon. By evening, temperatures are expected to drop to -11°C, feeling like -17°C overnight.
