Tim Hortons unveils its Smile Cookie initiative

Tim Hortons’ iconic Smile Cookie campaign returns, bringing joy to both customers and local charities. This year, the beloved initiative will once again support Toys for Tots and the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation. Following last year’s remarkable donation of over $116,000, equally divided between the two organizations, hopes are high for another successful fundraising season. Paul Penna, spearheading the Thunder Bay Professional Firefighters Toys for Tots drive, emphasizes the significant role Smile Cookies play in bolstering annual fundraising endeavors.

“If you think about it, if we raised around $160,000 last year through our campaign separately, and when we got ($58,000) from the cookie campaign, that’s just a massive percentage. Without it we wouldn’t have had nearly the success that we had.”

Since its inception in 1996, the campaign has garnered widespread support, accumulating an impressive $111 million over three decades from coast to coast.

In the previous year alone, the campaign achieved remarkable success, raising nearly $20 million nationwide.

The delectable cookies, available for purchase throughout the week, are priced at $1.50 each and can be acquired at all participating Tim Hortons outlets. Every dollar spent contributes directly to the fundraising efforts for both organizations.
