Anticipating intense rain showers and thunderstorms on Friday, Environment Canada has issued a distinctive weather advisory. The projected outlook entails rainfall ranging between 15 to 25 millimeters, although regions experiencing intensified downpours, as predicted by CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin, might encounter precipitation as substantial as 50 millimeters.

These showers possess the potential to deposit over 20 millimeters per hour, potentially leading to perilous driving circumstances, accumulation of water on roadways, and isolated instances of flooding.

Friday is expected to be quite wet, remarked Simpkin. We’re in for a substantial amount of rain today – perhaps even a bit excessive.

According to Simpkin’s forecast, the intense rainfall is projected to reach P.E.I. slightly after 9 a.m. and persist for approximately 12 hours.

While wind won’t play a significant role during the day, it is set to intensify overnight, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h after midnight.
