A series of suspected overdoses in downtown Toronto has resulted in one fatality, and the police believe that “at least five” individuals have experienced adverse effects.

In a media release, the Toronto police stated that they received multiple overdose calls in the area of Strachan Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West on both Friday and Saturday.

 

According to the police, a minimum of five individuals ingested an unidentified quantity of a suspected opioid narcotic. All of the victims experienced negative effects, resulting in the death of one person.

Unfortunately, there is no available description of the specific drug involved. Investigators express concerns about the potential distribution or administration of this substance to others. In the media release, the Toronto police emphasized the utmost caution when consuming drugs and strongly advised against using them in isolation.
