Cineplex Inc. reported record box office revenue of $45.1 million in September, up from $37.7 million a year earlier.
The company also set a third-quarter record with $215.7 million in box office revenue, compared with $159.5 million during the same period last year.
Cineplex said revenue per moviegoer topped $14 for the first time, helped by strong attendance for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey and Resident Evil.
CEO Bill Walker said the results show the continued appeal of the movie theatre experience.
