Sony’s PlayStation State of Play showcase featured several upcoming PS5 games, but many viewers focused on two messages instead of the announcements: “No Disc, No Buy” and “We Want Destiny 3.”
The first slogan is a protest against Sony’s decision to stop producing new physical game discs starting in 2028. Many players say they still want the option to own games on disc and worry the move will hurt game preservation while giving Sony more control over digital sales.
The second demand comes from fans of Destiny 2, which was recently moved into maintenance mode after years of updates. Many players hoped Sony and Bungie would announce Destiny 3 as the franchise’s next chapter, but no sequel or new major Destiny project was revealed.
Although the decisions were made months ago, the repeated messages during the livestream show many PlayStation fans remain frustrated and want Sony to respond.
