Multiple food recalls issued across Canada, including yogurt, croissants, chocolate and bottled water

Several food products sold across Canada were recalled in August, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The recalls affect items sold at major grocery stores, including Costco, Sobeys and Loblaw stores. Reasons include Salmonella, mould, Listeria and undeclared allergens.

Recalled products

  • Whole Foods Market: Guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo and some prepared foods sold in Ontario due to possible Salmonella.

  • Compliments: Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers recalled nationwide because they may contain undeclared egg.

  • The Greek Gods: Honey and plain Greek-style yogurt sold nationally, including at Costco, recalled due to mould.

  • Alfa: Cream-filled croissants sold nationwide, including at Costco, recalled because of mould.

  • Flow: Peach + Blueberry flavoured mineral spring water recalled in Ontario, Alberta and B.C. due to mould.

  • PC Organics: Plant-based cheddar corn puffs and crunchies recalled nationwide for undeclared milk.

  • Salem Foods: Various spices, seeds and baking products recalled in several provinces for undeclared wheat, mustard and sesame.

  • Hershey’s Kisses: Milk chocolate products recalled nationwide for undeclared almonds.

  • Mounit el Bait: Tahina and halva recalled in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba for undeclared peanuts.

Consumers should check product codes on the CFIA recall website and avoid eating any affected items.
