Health Canada recalls air conditioners and heat pumps over safety risk

Health Canada has recalled certain Amana through-the-wall air conditioners and heat pumps because of a possible fire hazard.

The agency says a ground fault inside the unit could cause burns or start a fire. Customers should stop using the recalled products immediately and contact Daikin Comfort Technologies for a full refund.

A total of 126 units were sold in Canada between April 2025 and June 2026. No injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada.

Recalled models:

  • Air conditioners: PBC092J00AA, PBC122J00AA, PBC123J00AA

  • Heat pump: PBH092J12AA
