Health Canada recalls acetaminophen over possible contamination

Health Canada has issued a public warning about one recalled lot of Novo-Gesic Forte 500 mg (acetaminophen) because it may contain pieces of phenolic resin or epoxy.

The recalled medicine is an over-the-counter pain reliever. Health Canada says swallowing the foreign material could injure the digestive system.

The affected product was shipped to pharmacies in 1,000-count bottles and later given to patients in smaller amounts.
