Cosmetic products recalled across Canada.

Health Canada has recalled two traditional kohl eye products sold in Canada because they contain unsafe levels of lead.

The recalled products are Mumtaz Herbal Kajal with Almond Oil for Sensitive Eyes and Al-Asmad Alharmain Zam Zam & Rose Water. About 576 units of each product were sold in Canada between January and August 2026.

Health Canada says lead is toxic, especially for children. It can build up in the body over time and may cause serious health problems, including brain, liver, kidney and heart damage.

Consumers should stop using the products immediately and return them to Sara Islamic Store in Mississauga for a refund.

As of Aug. 28, no injuries or incidents related to the recalled products had been reported in Canada.
