Municipality launches garbage cart set-out service

THUNDER BAY — Residents who are unable to move their new garbage carts to the curb can apply for help through the City of Thunder Bay’s garbage cart set-out service.

The program is meant for people who physically cannot move the carts on their own. To qualify, residents must live in a single-family home, complete an application form, and provide a note from a medical professional.

Jason Sherband, manager of Solid Waste and Recycling, said the service is available across the city and is designed to support residents who need extra assistance.

City staff will place garbage carts at the curb for approved applicants. The application form is available on the city’s website.
