More than 20,000 Jeep Cherokee vehicles are being recalled in Canada because of a problem that could cause them to move while parked.
According to Transport Canada, the power transfer unit in some 2019 to 2023 Jeep Cherokee models could fail. This may cause a loss of power to the wheels or allow the vehicle to roll if the parking brake is not used.
The recall only affects vehicles with a two-speed power transfer unit. In total, 20,781 vehicles are impacted in Canada.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said owners will be notified by mail. A repair plan is still being developed.
