THUNDER BAY – Police say a group of men shared private images of local women online without their consent, in a chat group that once had about 600 members.
Details came out in court as 29-year-old Tyler Blouin pleaded guilty to distributing intimate images without consent. He was sentenced to 18 months of house arrest, followed by one year of probation.
The court heard that between 2022 and 2024, Blouin shared images of eight women on a Discord channel and included their names. In total, about 700 images were shared in the group, involving 123 victims.
Prosecutors said the case may be “just the beginning,” since many people were part of the group. None of the women gave permission for their images to be shared.
Police found images on Blouin’s phone and computer. In court, he apologized and admitted his actions were wrong.
Another man, 32-year-old Jordan Maurice, also pleaded guilty earlier and received a similar sentence.
There are still 11 other people facing charges in the case.
