Google has announced a new AI subscription called AI Plus, which is now available in Canada and more than 30 other countries.
AI Plus is a cheaper option that gives users access to Google’s AI tools and 200GB of cloud storage. It costs $10.99 a month, but new subscribers can pay $5.49 a month for the first two months.
The new plan joins Google’s AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions. AI Pro costs $26.99 a month and includes 2TB of storage, while AI Ultra costs $339.99 a month and includes 30TB. The main difference between the plans is how much storage and AI access users get, though Google does not clearly explain those limits.
Google does explain a few differences. AI Plus allows shorter AI prompts than the other plans and gives users fewer monthly credits for making AI images. It also does not include some advanced AI search features, Google Cloud credits, or extra tools in apps like Google Meet and Google Calendar.
Overall, AI Plus offers most of the same features as Google’s other AI plans, but with more limits at a lower price. Google also says people who already pay for the Google One Premium 2TB plan will soon get AI Plus features at no extra cost. Users can sign up for AI Plus on the Google One website.
