Health Canada Recalls Children’s Toothbrush Due to Choking Hazard
Residents across Canada are being advised to check their homes for Oracare Baby Brush toothbrushes, which may pose a choking risk during use.
The recalled product was sold at Dollarama stores nationwide and includes toothbrushes with model numbers JSM7821 and JSM8856, and the serial number 3121361.
Health Canada says the toothbrush can potentially break into two pieces while in use, creating a choking hazard for young children.
What to do:
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the product and return it to any Dollarama store for a full refund. If any injury occurs, medical attention should be sought right away. Health Canada also encourages people to report any side effects or product complaints.
While Dollarama has received one consumer complaint related to the product, no injuries or choking incidents have been reported to either the company or Health Canada at this time.
Dollarama has stated it will no longer sell or import the Oracare Baby Brush toothbrush. Health Canada says it will continue to monitor the situation and take further action if necessary.
