Thousands of Products in Canada Identified as Chemical Hazards

Thousands of products sold in Canada have been recalled after Health Canada deemed them a “chemical hazard.”

According to a public notice, the affected items are Arooj Henna Cones in black, red, and brown, sold in triangular cone packaging. These products were found to contain phenol — a banned substance in cosmetics due to its harmful effects.

“Phenolic compounds are known skin sensitizers and can cause chemical burns through corrosive action,” Health Canada stated.

The recalled items include:

  • Black Henna Cone – UPC: 7845129997

  • Red Henna Cone – UPC: 7845129977

  • Brown Henna Cone – UPC: 7845129988

A total of 5,760 units were sold across Canada between November and May. So far, one incident related to these products has been reported.

Health officials are urging consumers to immediately stop using the recalled items and dispose of them in their regular household trash.
