Hot Sauce Recalled in Canada Due to Spoilage Risk
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for a hot sauce product sold in Canada, citing spoilage concerns.
On April 29, the CFIA announced that Marie Sharp’s Original Garlic Habanero Pepper Sauce is being pulled from shelves. The affected product comes in a 148 mL bottle and can be identified by UPC 0 25315 36890 4, best before date: December 11, 2027, and lot code: M940.
The product was sold on Amazon and may have also been available through other retailers or online marketplaces.
This recall falls under a Class III designation, which indicates a low risk to health. Such recalls typically involve products that may not pose a health hazard but fail to meet federal food safety standards.
This is one of several food recalls issued in Canada this week.
