Authorities Confiscate $836,000 Worth of Drugs, Including 7 Kilograms of Cocaine

THUNDER BAY — Police have seized a large amount of drugs, a loaded gun, and cash after a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.

The investigation, led by the Ontario Provincial Police’s guns and gangs team, started in late 2024. On May 8, 2025, officers searched two vehicles and three homes.

Thunder Bay Police and the Nishnawbe Aski Nation Police Service also helped with the investigation. Police found 7.2 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 1 kilogram of suspected meth, 2.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, 295 oxycodone pills, 4 pounds of dried illegal cannabis, 280 cannabis vape pens, 25 vials of hash oil, a loaded gun, $126,260 in cash, and eight cell phones.

Police say the total street value of the drugs is about $836,000.

Five people were arrested: a 34-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man from Ajax, a 35-year-old man, and a 26-year-old woman — all from Thunder Bay except for the man from Ajax. The first three are still in custody. The other two have been released and are expected in court next month.
