Regional Gas Prices Fall Further Over the Weekend

Gas Prices Continue to Slide Across Waterloo Region This Weekend

Drivers across Waterloo Region are seeing welcome relief at the pump as gas prices continue to fall this weekend.

According to Roger McKnight, Chief Petroleum Analyst at Enpro, prices dropped seven cents at midnight Saturday, landing at around 132.9 cents per litre at most stations. McKnight forecasts another dip by Sunday, with prices expected to fall an additional three cents, bringing the average to 129.9 cents per litre.

On Saturday morning, some Kitchener stations were already selling gas for as low as 128.9 cents per litre. In Wilmot Township, prices hovered around 129.9 cents, while drivers in Waterloo found even lower rates—some stations reported prices between 123.9 and 125.9 cents per litre.

This marks the third price drop at the pumps in the past week. The most significant occurred on April 1, when the federal consumer carbon tax was lifted, triggering a decrease of up to 20 cents per litre.
