Canada’s Most Wanted Fugitive Dave “Pik” Turmel Reportedly Arrested in Italy
Dave “Pik” Turmel, the country’s most wanted fugitive, has reportedly been arrested in Italy, according to police sources who spoke with Radio-Canada.
Turmel, 28, has been on the run for over a year and is believed to be the leader of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM), a violent street gang notorious for its role in brutal turf wars across Quebec. The gang has been linked to extreme violence, including cases where victims were tortured and had limbs amputated.
In December, Turmel was named the top suspect on the Bolo Program’s list — a Canadian public safety initiative aimed at tracking down dangerous criminals. Quebec City police had been seeking Turmel since July 24, 2023, on multiple serious charges including drug trafficking, conspiracy, and armed assault.
A reward of up to $250,000 was being offered for information leading to his capture. Interpol had also issued a red notice for Turmel, requesting global law enforcement to locate and arrest him pending extradition.
While Quebec City police have yet to officially confirm the arrest, sources suggest the fugitive was apprehended in Italy.
Last year, Roobens Denis, 31, believed to be Turmel’s close associate and second-in-command, was arrested in Portugal.
Canada’s second most wanted fugitive is All Boivin, thought to be another key figure in the BFM gang and heavily involved in Quebec’s ongoing drug turf wars. A reward of up to $250,000 remains available for information leading to Boivin’s arrest until June 3, 2025.
