Netflix Announces Subscription Price Hikes Across U.S. and Global Markets

Netflix revealed on Tuesday that it will increase subscription prices for several plans in the U.S. and select international markets.

The Standard plan without ads in the U.S. will rise from $15.49 per month to $17.99, marking its first price adjustment since January 2022. Meanwhile, the ad-supported tier will increase from $6.99 to $7.99 per month, and the Premium plan will jump from $22.99 to $24.99 per month. Additionally, the cost of adding an “Extra Member” to a primary account will climb from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.

In Canada, similar increases are being implemented. The ad-supported tier will now cost CAD $7.99 per month, the Standard plan will rise to CAD $18.99, and the Premium plan will reach CAD $23.99. Netflix also raised prices in Portugal and Argentina.

This announcement coincided with Netflix’s release of its fourth-quarter 2024 earnings, which showcased a record-breaking 18.9 million new subscribers for the quarter. Notably, ad-supported plans contributed to over 55% of new subscriptions in regions where they are available.

Netflix last adjusted subscription prices in the U.S., U.K., and France in October 2023.
