Snow expected to hit the GTA and southern Ontario later this week.

Some towns and cities in southern Ontario could experience their first significant snowfall later this week.

While most of the GTA is likely to see rain, northern areas may be cold enough for precipitation to turn into snow.

After a mild and sunny start to the week, regions like Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Niagara, and much of Durham are expected to see mainly cloudy and rainy weather.

Hamilton’s temperature is forecast to drop to 4°C on Thursday, with a 40% chance of snow or rain in the morning, according to Environment Canada.

Northern Durham areas, including Port Perry, could see snow starting Friday evening and into the weekend, with a 40% chance of showers or flurries on both Friday and Saturday.

Orangeville, just north of Peel Region, has a 30% chance of rain or flurries on Thursday, increasing to a 60% chance Friday evening.

Barrie’s forecast shows a 60% chance of snow or rain Friday evening, followed by a 40% chance on Saturday.

The Weather Network had initially predicted wet snow for Nov. 26 in Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, and Durham, but this has since shifted, with snow now expected on Sunday, Dec. 1.
