Minimum Wage Increases Today Across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and P.E.I.
The minimum wage is increasing today in four provinces.
In Ontario, the rate is rising by 65 cents to $17.20 per hour, an adjustment linked to inflation.
Saskatchewan’s minimum wage is increasing by $1, reaching $15 per hour, though it remains the lowest in Canada, alongside Alberta.
In Manitoba, wages will rise by 50 cents to $15.80 per hour, following a provincial formula based on the inflation rate from the previous year.
Prince Edward Island’s minimum wage is going up by 60 cents to $16 per hour, following an earlier 40-cent increase this year.
British Columbia holds the highest provincial minimum wage at $17.40 per hour, while Nunavut tops the national scale with $19 per hour.
The federal minimum wage, affecting approximately 30,000 employees in federally regulated sectors, is set at $17.30 per hour.
