Fisher-Price Recalls Baby Biceps Gift Set Due to Choking Hazard from Dumbbell Toy

Health Canada has issued a recall for the dumbbell toy included in the Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set due to a choking hazard. The recall does not affect other items in the set, such as the kettlebell toy, protein shake bottle, or wearable headband.

The agency reports that the grey caps on the ends of the dumbbell toy can detach, creating a choking risk for infants. As of August 15, Fisher-Price has received four reports in Canada and seven in the United States of the caps coming off, though no injuries have been reported.

The recalled products were distributed in Canada between June 2020 and April 2024, with approximately 44,500 units sold. Customers are advised to immediately stop using the dumbbell toy, keep it away from young children, and contact Fisher-Price for a partial refund.

The recall was issued in collaboration with Health Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Mattel, the parent company of Fisher-Price.
