Microsoft Postpones Controversial AI Recall Feature Launch for New Windows PCs
Next week, customers will receive new laptops pre-installed with Microsoft Windows, but they won’t include Recall, a flagship feature highlighted by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at a recent showcase event. Recall, designed to periodically capture screen snapshots for Microsoft’s AI assistant Copilot, aimed to create a “photographic memory” of virtual activities to aid users in recalling past actions. However, due to concerns regarding privacy and cybersecurity, Microsoft announced this week that the widely anticipated preview of Recall, originally scheduled to launch with new PCs on Tuesday, will be delayed.
