London Drugs Stores Across Western Canada Resume Operations After Cyberattack

London Drugs announced Tuesday that all its stores in Western Canada have resumed operations after a cyberattack shut down all 79 locations for over a week.

While core services were restored in 40 stores earlier, pharmacy services for new prescriptions were unavailable. Customers can now contact their local pharmacy or visit in person during regular hours for assistance. Additionally, Canada Post services, the Insurance Services Call Centre, and optical locations are now accessible.

London Drugs has not disclosed any specifics regarding the cybersecurity incident that led to the shutdown of all stores across Western Canada.

The company stated that it is diligently working to ensure that systems in each store are fully operational and equipped to provide the comprehensive range of services and products expected by their customers. They expressed gratitude for everyone’s patience during this process.

“We are only turning on systems after we and our external third-party cybersecurity experts have taken all recommended steps to ensure we have full confidence that the systems being used are safe and secure.”
The company stated that there is no evidence indicating any compromise of customer databases, including those of pharmacy patients and LDExtras members.
