Alert for Canadians: Additional Recalls of Mushrooms Due to Listeria Contamination

On Friday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced a recall of K-Fresh Enkoi mushrooms due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

These mushrooms, packaged in 200-gram bags, are identifiable by the Universal Product Code 4892742010234.

The recall was initiated following a customer complaint, although no illnesses related to the consumption of these mushrooms have been reported, according to the food inspection agency.

The CFIA cautioned that food tainted with Listeria monocytogenes might not exhibit any visible signs of spoilage, yet it can lead to illness.

Symptoms may include vomiting, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches, and neck stiffness.

Customers are advised by the CFIA to inspect their mushrooms and discard them if found.
