Niagara Falls man prohibited from all Tim Hortons restaurants in Ontario by Judge’s order.

After a series of overnight break-ins at various Tim Hortons outlets across the Niagara region, Kevin Boutilier, a resident of Niagara, received an unusual prohibition from the Ontario Court of Justice.

He appeared before the court in St. Catharines and admitted his guilt to multiple charges related to these incidents.

As part of his sentence, the 43-year-old man will need to suppress any future cravings for his favorite “double-double” as the judge has barred him from entering any Tim Hortons restaurant in Ontario. The offenses occurred between September and November 2022, during which Boutilier targeted coffee shops in Niagara Falls, Thorold, and St. Catharines.

In most instances, the perpetrator resorted to a pry bar to forcibly open the drive-thru windows of the restaurants and gain unauthorized entry.

Collectively, the defendant managed to escape with a total of $14,000 in Canadian and U.S. currency.

As a consequence of his actions, Boutilier received a two-year imprisonment sentence. However, due to the credit granted for the time he had already spent in presentence custody, the final duration of his sentence was reduced to 359 days.

Additionally, the court ordered him to serve a three-year probationary period, during which he must adhere to specific conditions. Furthermore, he received a prohibition from entering any Tim Hortons establishments within the province.
